Our Story

Tamar began with a simple conviction: freedom should not end the day a survivor escapes exploitation. It should grow, strengthen, and transform every part of her life.

What started as a small outreach has become a survivor-led movement that brings together advocacy, mentorship, and meaningful employment. From shaping policies that protect the vulnerable to walking beside women as they rebuild their lives, every step is guided by faith, hope, and the belief that redemption is possible.

Our name comes from the biblical story of Tamar, a woman whose dignity was nearly lost but whose legacy God restored. In that same spirit, we work so that every survivor not only finds freedom but thrives in it.

Our Approach

Together, our leadership team reflects the full spectrum of experience, survivor voice, family advocacy, and generational healing. We work as one to build a survivor-driven, faith-based model of reintegration where women and children can rediscover safety, dignity, and hope.

Our Commitment

We believe in restoration over despair, community over isolation, and empowerment over exploitation. Tamar exists to equip survivors to flourish, and to remind them they are never alone

Our Mission

We exist to see survivors of exploitation restored to wholeness, spirit, soul, and body. Through survivor-led advocacy, faith-based mentorship, and employment partnerships, we create pathways for lasting freedom.

Our work bridges immediate support with long-term transformation, equipping survivors to reclaim their identities, rebuild their futures, and influence the systems that once failed them. Every initiative we lead is rooted in hope, driven by purpose, and guided by the belief that every life has immeasurable value.

Our Team:

The Strategist

With decades of experience shaping national policy, compliance systems, and reforms across multiple states, our strategist has authored and advanced laws that protect children and strengthen justice. From courtroom briefs to legislative chambers, she ensures Tamar’s work is anchored in expertise, accountability, and lasting impact. Her vision translates values into policy, ensuring survivors are not just heard but protected by the systems around them.

The Survivor

Once a victim of sexual exploitation and labor trafficking, our survivor-leader now brings the wisdom of lived experience to every program we design. Her courage transforms pain into purpose, making Tamar survivor-driven at its very core. By shaping reintegration pathways with compassion and truth, she ensures no survivor walks alone.

The Advocate

A mother who fought relentlessly to rescue her own child from trafficking, our advocate represents the voice of every family failed by broken systems. Her perspective keeps parents and children at the center of Tamar’s mission—reminding us that healing is not only individual but also familial and generational. Her fight for her own child fuels our fight for every child.

The Next Generation

Marked by the pain of a destructive relationship, she now carries a voice of strength and renewal. As Tamar’s next generation voice, she reminds us why we exist: to protect the vulnerable, to champion restoration, and to create a future where every person can flourish in safety and hope.
