Our Vision

Tamar was born from the same passion to protect and restore, yet its mission is distinct.

 Where many organizations speak boldly to wake up a sleeping culture, Tamar quietly rebuilds what’s been shattered. While others shine a national spotlight on trafficking and policy failure, Tamar walks hand-in-hand with the women who’ve been trafficked, exploited, or abandoned, offering long-term reintegration through a faith-based, survivor-driven model.

​Tamar doesn’t just fight to stop trafficking. We fight to restore dignity after the rescue, providing vocational pathways, mentorship, identity restoration, and spiritual formation that carry women forward in strength and purpose. Our focus is deeply personal, intentionally restorative, and symbolically rich, rooted in the biblical Tamar who was silenced, isolated, and left desolate… but not forgotten.

We are the hands that rebuild the woman left behind.

The name comes from a tragic and powerful story in 2 Samuel 13. Tamar, daughter of King David, was assaulted and abandoned—left to live in desolation.

Her story is heartbreakingly familiar for many women today. But just like the palm tree, her name carries hope: flourishing is still possible, even in the driest places.

Tamar (תמר) is the Hebrew word for “palm tree”—a symbol of strength, grace, and flourishing in dry places.

Like the biblical Tamar, we work for every woman who has been silenced, isolated, or left desolate… but not forgotten.
